When you educate a girl can you really change the world? Undoubtedly, when you educate a girl, her world changes.

When asked what change he wished to see in the world, UN official Shashi Tharoor replied:

"Educate girls. It's the one thing that can transform the world. Educate a boy and you educate a person; educate a girl and you educate a family, a community, a society. Educated girls become better-informed mothers and more empowered human beings; they are less vulnerable to AIDS and other diseases; they bring up educated children."

Education for Life exists to empower girls and lower the barriers to education for all children in Phayao Province, Thailand. We have granted scholarships to more than 1,000 girls in the last ten years to keep them in school and away from the threat of trafficking. We have also installed water filtration systems in schools and donated bikes to children, keeping schools safe and accessible for all kids in the province.
